AT REST

The Funeral Obsequice of Mrs. Virginia McCLAIN Yesterday Afternoon

The remains of Mrs. Virginia McCLAIN were laid to rest yesterday afternoon in Fernwood.  The funeral services were from the First Presbyterian Church, of which, she was a member.  The attendance was very large.  The services were conducted by Rev. J. G. Patton.  The choir feelingly and beautiful rendered the following hymns:  "God Be With Us Till We Meet Again," and "Abide With Me."  The floral tributes were beautiful and appropriate.

Among those noticeable was a wreath from Nashville, of pink hyacinths and white roses.  A sickle composed of lillies of the valley, hyacinths and roses from Frank E. WALKER and wife.  A lyre of white carnations, roses, lillies of the valley from Dr. Arch DIXON and Joe C. DIXON.  A standing peace, "At Rest," in white carnations with a star of purple hyacinths and the base bedded with hyacinths and roses, from Jackson McCLAIN, Jr. and wife.  Also a large display of lillies of the valley and hyacinths.  There were several casket bouquets of Easter lillies, calla lillies and hyacinths.
